The following is a portion of the life's mission statement directly from Girlfriends Diet Diary. A mission statement is a guideline for positive growth. It is not a list of rules. Mission staement are meant to be bent and molded to reflect your own intentions and path.
My Mission Statement**
(Portions directly from the Girlfriends Diet Diary)
I, ____________________ commit to my long-term physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. I commit to provide an adequate amount of nutritious food for my body, to enjoy regular exercise and activity, and to surround myself with others of like interests who support me and are a positive influence for my highest good.
I commit to follow my heart. I know to listen to my instincts. I trust myself and I know that I can and should. My heart will lead me to decisions for the greatest benefit. I will also look at life logically... make sense of problems and understand them before acting. I know to listen to both my heart and my head. I trust both. Even though they may conflict, I comprehend both points of view. Thought before action.
I will balance all areas of my life. These include the time and seriousness with which I appraoch work, home, friends and self.
I will conduct my life using and maintaining these principles:
I will maintain my integrity, meaning I will uphold my principles and moral code. I will follow my values in all areas of my life.
I will maintain a positive attitude. Nothing is solved the most beneficial way with a negative attitude. It will be my decision what emotion to hold: it is up to me. Looking at the good rather than the bad promotes more optimism and joy. It supports the future rather than being stuck in the past.
I will follow the Golden Rule: Treat others as you wish to be treated. I will respect others regardless of who they are.
I will remain true to myself and others. I will uphold my faith even in times of hardship. I believe in myself. I believe in life.
I will do my best to help others when it is in my capabilities by devoting time for the benefit of others. Yet, I should consider that I need to be in the right state, physically and mentally before being able to completely devote my time for others (sometimes it's necessary to help myself before others).
I will apply myself fully and competely in whatever I attempt. I will work very hard and commit to whatever I choose. (continued... )
